Ethos
Melita Spahic Dance is a meeting point for dance artists and collaborators from different disciplines, backgrounds and with varied technologies who share a passion for dance and bring with them an interest in developing ideas through dance projects.
MSD organises itself around the ensemble idea, which was envisioned in 2005 when Melita started collaborating with Andrew Clarke , Wayne Walker- Allen and Phil Winterhalder. Following core ideas MSD seeks new pathways and endeavours to discover different ways of approaching art practice and of seeing dance; most importantly, to open space for surprises and challenges to catch our curiosity along the way!
MSD presently includes the following collaborators: Andrew Clarke, Wayne Walker-Allen (music), Valentina Golfieri, Avatâra Ayuso, Annie Lok, Antonio Jesús de la Fe Guedes, Steven Johnstone and Petra Söör (dancers), under the artistic direction of Melita Spahic.

- Working methods are geared towards finding emotionally intelligent movement and new challenges within each new project
- The depth of research in the process is reflected in the dramaturgy of the final work which is multi-layered and distinct in its ability to create an original and engaging atmosphere; firm in its intent and ambitious in its content; articulate and resonant with audiences
- Investigations into our contemporary world, different mythologies and active learning from each other and varied fields within the research environment are also key within projects
